Luke DeLalio : Interdisciplinary Artist

This is a study of the aspects of a single person's personality. It is an unfinished series - at least three more works are planned and in various stages of denial.

These works reference the tradition of religious icon painting, as well as various styles in portrait painting through history. As an example, in Sorrow, the skin tone is derived from old medieval religious painting which tend to exhibit a greenish skin tone due to paint oxidation.
